WATTS, Herman Noble

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Monday, July 20, 2009 Herman Noble Watts, 79, passed away July 14, 2009, in Lake Havasu City following a long illness. He was born on June 5, 1930, in Elk, Wash., to Ivan and Lucinda (Osborn) Watts. Herman served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, before marrying his best friend, Betty Lou Zieske, in Spokane, Wash., on July 2, 1955. Together, they raised three beautiful children in Washington and Alaska before making Lake Havasu City their home 10 years ago following retirement in Spokane. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad in Washington for 18 years and as an electrician for N.O.A.A. in Anchorage, Alaska, for 19 years. Herman was a true outdoorsman as well as a proud husband and father. He loved flying family and friends through the wilderness and mountain ranges of Alaska, which he considered his home. Hunting, fishing and exploring still serve as cherished memories to his family and those many good friends who experienced his love for the outdoors. Herman leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Betty Lou Watts, of Lake Havasu City; their three children including a son, Charles and twin daughters, Betty and Bonnie. Six adult grandchildren loved to be with him whenever they had the opportunity. He was loved in life and will be fondly remembered and missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents; only sister, Hazel Higley, and granddaughter, Nichole Watts. A small family celebration of Herman’s life has been arranged. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Herman’s name to the Heart Association of Havasu, P.O.
