PETTIT, John McDean (PA)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona 04/14/2006 John McDean "PA" Pettit, 84, died Sunday April 9, 2006 at his home in Vernon. John received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army after serving three years during World War II. He retired as a Lumberyard Foreman. In 1985 John and his wife Shirley moved to Arizona from Colorado. He loved to work in his garden and loved to have his grandchildren around him and give them rides in the wagon. John is survived by his wife, Shirley Pettit of Vernon; sons, Rick (Linda) Pettit of Kansas City, KS and Alva "Alvie" (LaCher Gidone) Pettit of Vernon; daughter, Liz (Lester) Holloway of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Ruth Ardell Kelly of Aubrey, California; 21 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, John Earl Pettit in 1997. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20 at Faith Fellowship in Concho. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
