Betty Jean Gray (Cummins), 75, of Lake Havasu City and formerly of Warrenton and Portland, Ore., died June 24, 2009, at home.
Betty was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Hillsboro, Ore., to Benjamin Cummins and Jean Puzon. Betty attended Shattuck Grade School and Lincoln High School.
On Dec. 2, 1950, Betty married William (Bill) Justice Gray in Portland. Betty is now with her beloved husband, Bill, who passed away on March 5, in Lake Havasu City, where they both moved to in 1996.
Betty was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed raising their six children. She loved to cook and made great food. She was a wonderful influence on many other family members and friends she knew throughout her lifetime. She also worked for many years in restaurants throughout Portland, Vancouver and Gearhart.
Betty is survived by three sons, William Gray Jr., of Tigard, Richard Raymond Gray, of Lake Havasu, and Steven Michael Gray, of Warrenton; two daughters, Cathy Beaty, of Pleasant View, Utah, and Anita Gray-Lattimore, of Portland, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Bergin and brother, John Smith, both of Portland, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Gray.
As was Betty’s wish, there will be no funeral service.
Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory is assisting with arrangements.
