EWART, John Frederick

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, July 9, 2009 John Frederick Ewart, 86, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009, at his residence in Lake Havasu City. John was born in Newark, N.J., to John Ewart Sr. and Bessie Manning Ewart. John enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He married Jane V. Hughes in 1945 just before his discharge from the Navy. He joined the reserves and was called back in for the Korean conflict. John worked for General Motors for 32 years in Van Nuys, Calif. John and Jane moved to Lake Havasu City after his retirement in 1978. John is survived by his loving wife Jane of 64 years and two brothers, Thomas Ewart, of Huron, Ohio, Joseph Ewart, of New Jersey and sister Joan also of New Jersey. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Robert and Brian Gureny, of California. He is preceded in death by his parents and his three children, John (Vietnam, 1967), Jane Ewary Gureny (1991) and Leonard (2007).
