THOMPSON, Josephine

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/18/2006 Josephine Thompson, 87, died Thursday evening April 13, 2006 in Show Low. She was born in Choctaw County, Okla. Josephine worked as a hairdresser for more than 50 years in the Valley working out of her home. In the late 30's she married George Wesley Thompson. After their retirement they moved to Mayer where she lived until 1992. Josephine was an avid hunter and fisher "woman", she played amateur softball for the Arizona Ramblers. Josephine is survived by her nieces, Judith (Tommy) Stephenson of Show Low, Joanne (Jack) Walters of Prescott Valley; nephew, Larry (Ong) Flanagan of Los Angeles, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, George on Thanksgiving Day 1988; her brother, Joseph Henry Flanagan and her sister, Fayetta Hoopes. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
