ALVAREZ, Ruben J.

Ruben J. Alvarez, 79, died peacefully on December 12, 2009, with his wife of 60 years, Josephine, by his side. Survived by his wife; children, Ruben Jr. (Delia) Alvarez and Linda Aguirre; siblings, Osvaldo (Lilly) Alvarez and Arlene (Paul) Arredondo; six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive. Mass will be offered 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1300 N. Greasewood Road. Entombment to follow in Holy Hope Mausoleum. Ruben previously resided in Ahwatukee, Arizona before moving to Tucson four years ago. He worked 38 years for Phelps Dodge Mining Corp. in Morenci and Ajo as a locomotive engineer and 11 years for Evergreen Electrical & Plumbing in Mesa until his retirement. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S.
