Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Sunday, June 27, 2010 Cecilia Flores, 83, of Flagstaff died Thursday, June 10, 2010, in Vail, Ariz. Born Aug. 17, 1926, in San Jose, N.M., to Noberto and Rufina Griego, Mrs. Flores was an avid card player, and she loved to crochet and spend time with her adoring family. Mrs. Flores is survived by sons Johnny Flores of Phoenix, Benny Flores of Tucson and Louie Cordova of Flagstaff; daughters Ruth (Felix) Rocha of Cottonwood, Linda (Alex) Castro of Tucson, Dorothy Flores of Washington and Delia Cordova of Prescott Valley; sister Eva (Lawrence) Autry of Albuquerque, N.M.; and brother Paul Benavidez of Los Lunas, N.M. Mrs. Flores also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Venancio (Ben) Flores. The family will hold a Saying of the Rosary Friday, July 2, 2010, at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. All services will be at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Contributions can be made to the San Francisco de Asis Bereavement Committee. Desert Rose Mortuary of Vail is handling arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Wednesday, June 30, 2010 Cecilia Flores died Friday, June 11, 2010. Mrs. Flores was a long-time resident of Flagstaff, one of the historic Hispanic pioneers of Flagstaff. She will always be remembered as a loving sister, sister-in-law, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, friend and neighbor. Her service to St. Pius church and to the NAU senior companion program is what she lived most for. She will be greatly missed and her kind words will linger on forever. Mrs. Flores is survived by two sisters; seven children; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Francisco De Asis (St. Pius X). A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m., at St. Francisco De Asis (St. Pius X), followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
