BRICHTA, Albert C. Jr.


Albert C. Brichta, Jr. August 4, 1927 - March 31, 2007 Albert was born and raised in Tucson. His gregarious personality, smile and love will be missed by many. He started working for his father at Brichta's Gas Station across from the Cathedral at 8. At 17 he responded to the call of his country and joined the Navy during WWII. He returned to finish school at Tucson High. As a Marine Reserve he served in the Korean War. He maintains close ties with Company "E" of Tucson. In February of 1952 he married his eternal sweetheart Jenny Ren. They celebrated their 55th anniversary February 23rd 2007. At age 26 he began working for the State of AZ Dept. of Transportation. He faithfully served the St. Vincent De Paul Society for 40 years. He could never truly retire because of his love for people and the need to keep up his supply of jokes. He started back to work for voter registration and Exemptions Office. He loved to laugh and make any situation lighter with his wit and humor. He was an avid fan of U of A and LA/St. Louis Rams. He will be missed by his wife, Jenny; sisters, Betty (Rudy) Garcia, Lorraine (Rudy) Aguilar; daughters, Jenny (Phil), Rosanna (Bob), Sylvia (Tad), Carol and Lydia (Frank); grandchildren, Caleb, Sarah, Phillip, Frankie and Lauren. Preceded in death by Angelina and Albert Brichta, Albert Brichta III and Norma Verdugo. Visitation will be held Monday, April 9, 2007 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Cathedral Conference.
