CARAMELLA, Mae E.

The Arizona Daily Star, 18 Oct. 2009 Mae E. (Petrie) Caramella died October 14, 2009. Wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend...A kind-hearted spirit. Mae was born in Franklin Grove, IL on February 14, 1913. Her family pioneered to Tucson in 1915 and farmed along DeMoss Petrie Road, now known as West Grant Road. She graduated from Tucson High School in 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank (married 1936); sister, Florence Kraft; and brother, Wilbur Petrie and is survived by her two sons, Rodney and Chuck (Caryn) Caramella; her sister, Elsie Ball; her nieces, Sharon Stewart of Green Valley, Elaine Sabin of Phoenix and Diane Johnson of Flagstaff; her nephews, Jim (Jan) Izlar and Fred Petrie and extended family Tom Villa. Mae was grandmother to five and great-grandmother to 13. She was beloved by all who knew her and will be missed. A Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with a Visitation at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Rd.
