DREYFUSS, Thomas (Tommy) Cecil


Thomas Cecil Dreyfuss, a native Tucsonan, was born March 29, 1924 at home on Main Street in Tucson. He passed away on May 28, 2010. He attended St. Peter and Paul Elementary School and Tucson High School. Tommy served as a Marine in World War II, but he was best known and loved by many from the 1950's through the early 1990's as a singer and guitar musician. He built fine homes on Mt. Lemmon and in Tucson; and he co-developed Mortex Cool Deck topping for swimming pools. As a rancher and a farmer in a remote farm near St. David, he was the Good Earth Conservationist for 1991 for the state of Arizona and went to Washington D.C. to represent the state. Tommy was active in the Benson NRCD Soil Conservation for twenty years. Tommy was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and John Dreyfuss; and his sister, Louise Dreyfuss Stover. He is survived by his brother, Richard Dreyfuss; and his children, Joni, Fay Nordwick, Joseph Dreyfuss, William Dreyfuss and Chad Borseth. He cherished his grandchildren, Amanda Odell, Carly Perez, and Delci Nordwick, in addition to six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friends in Tucson, Marana and Cochise County. A Scripture Service will be held at ADAIR AVALON FUNERAL HOMES-AVALON CHAPEL, 8090 N. Northern Avenue Oro Valley at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday June 8, 2010. A graveside military service will be held 9:00 a.m. Wednesday June 9, 2010 at Holy Hope cemetery 3555 N. Oracle Road . Published in the Tucson Newspapers on June 6, 2010
