Rose Ann Moritz Fisher, 91, passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at Homestead North in Olathe, Kansas. She was born February 27, 1918 in Geary County, Kansas, to Albert and Agnes Oliver Moritz. In 1954, she married Bernard Fisher, who died February 21, 1992 in Tucson. Rose Ann graduated from St. Xavier's High School, Junction City, Kansas in 1934. She went to work in November 1937, with the Civil Service at Fort Riley, Kansas. In 1940, she went to work for the Navy Dept. in Washington, D.C., later transferring to San Francisco, California, retiring in 1969. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher moved to Tucson, Arizona shortly after, where they lived for many years. Mrs. Fisher moved from Tucson in 2002 to Springfield, Missouri, and later to Olathe, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Irene Moritz, Helen Lester and Edith Peyre; two brothers, Albert Moritz, Jr. and Warren Moritz. Survivors include one sister, Pearl Munyer, of Sacramento, California; two brothers, Raymond Moritz, of Wichita, Kansas and Robert Moritz, of Blue Eye, Missouri. Survivors also include 18 nieces and nephews and their families, and many devoted friends. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Tucson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009, with Visitation and Rosary on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL, 7 E. University Blvd., Tucson, Arizona. Burial will be at Holy Hope Cemetery, Tucson. Rose Ann was a defender of life, and volunteered at Reach Out of Tucson, 2648 North Campbell Ave., Tucson, AZ.
