KRUGER, Victoria (Vicki)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/09/2006 Vicki Whipple Kruger died in Phoenix May 2, 2006 after a short battle with cancer. Vicki was born June 10, 1945 in Snowflake, the fourth of eight children, born to Melvin Whipple and Lilyan Reidhead Whipple. She attended grade school in Show Low and high school in Snowflake until the family moved to Mesa in 1963. She attended cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser until she became ill in February. She will be missed by family, friends and clients for her loving spirit and sense of humor that have touched the lives of all who knew her. Vicki was preceded in death by both parents and brother, Ardell. She is survived by her husband, William Kruger of Phoenix; sisters Barbara Johanning of Phoenix, Sherell Albright of Phoenix, Afton Johnston of New York City, N.Y., Kathleen Cook of Mesa, Janet Banister of Richmond, Va., and Janice Nickerson of Searsport, Maine. She is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews, who have had the loving care and concern of their Aunt Vicki. Services were held Saturday, May 6 at Green Acres Glendale Mortuary, 5830 W. Missouri Ave. in Glendale with Bishop Dennis L. Cathcart officiating. Graveside services were held at the Show Low Cemetery. Green Acres Glendale Mortuary of Glendale, (623) 939-8321 handled arrangements.
