ALVAREZ, Eddie C.

Eddie C. Alvarez, born August 9, 1946, was suddenly called home to join his beloved family in heaven on March 21, 2009. Preceded in death by his wife, Esperanza; father, John Alvarez; dad, Gilbert Granillo; brothers, Johnny Alvarez, Gary Granillo; sister, Terry Granillo. Eddie fought bravely in VietNam, where he was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with "V" for Valor. Survived by his mother, Lucy Granillo; sons, Edward and Ezekiel; brothers, Ralph Alvarez and Gilbert Granillo; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Granillo, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, March 27, 2009 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN. Mass at 10:00 a.m. Capilla Guadalupana, 401 E. 31st Street, burial to follow at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave. (Obituary published in Arizona Daily Star, 03/26/2009.)
