Edwardo Alvarez born on October 3, 1925, departed this world on September 27, 2007 to rejoin his long-time loving wife, Trinidad P. Alvarez.
As a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Edward was a respected leader/elder in the cultural ceremonies of the "Yaqui". Remembered as a generous, hard working man who retired from Southern Pacific Railroad. He is survived by his daughters, Vicenta Maria (Pedro) Valenzuela, Maria E. Alvarez; and son, Marcos (Martina) Alvarez; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Matilda Garcia; and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of his life will be held on October 8, 2007 at 4:00 p.m., Oasis (All Tribes) Assembly of God followed by an all night traditional wake, 7:00 p.m. at the Cristo Rey Church in the Pascua Yaqui Reservation. A morning service will be held at Oasis All Tribes, October 9, 2007 9:00 a.m., followed by an escort to South Lawn Cemetery for burial. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
