Harold David
Harold David Argraves 88, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away into God's hands on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 4:55 p.m.
Formally of Fort Fairfield, Maine to parents Mark and Hazel Argraves. Harold and his wife, Lillian, were married September 27, 1943 in Fort Fairfield, Maine.
Harold served in the Army during World war II under General Patton. After the Army, he worked for the civil service at Limestone Airforce Base in Maine.
Harold moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1963 and continued to work for the civil service at both Davis Monthan Air Force Base and Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista.
Harold loved to go boating and fishing, along with gardening. He also loved baseball, where he played for 14 years in the semi-pro leagues in Maine.
Spiritually, Harold was an outstanding church worker, helping in any way he could. He was also greatly involved in the prison ministry, visiting inmates and counseling them in the Bible and prayers. When he could no longer visit the inmates, he continued his ministry by writing letters.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Freda; grandson, Anthony; and his beloved wife of 62 years, Lillian.
He is survived by his four sons, David (Bev), Mark (Sharen), Edward (Ruth), and Mike (Randy Lynn); nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN (5401 S. Park Ave.). Funeral Services for Harold will be held at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN, Monday, March 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Howard officiating. Interment will follow.
Harold has entered now into the joy of the Lord. What a faithful, Christian husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We shall see him again.
