Cornelius "Colonel" Teskey, 80, died Feb 27 at his residence, the Dugas Ranch, in Mayer. He was born Aug 11, 1907 in New York City, NY, to Walter J and Emma (Schrader) Teskey.
Teskey was reared in Pittsburgh, Pa. and moved to the Mayer area in 1927 from Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was active in the Yavapai and Arizona Cattle Growers Associations most of his life, an Eagle Scout as a boy, involved in scouting in Pennsylvania and the Mayer area, and supported many of the local youth groups. Teskey was also a deacon in the Mayer Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Phoebe, Mayer; one daughter, Trudy Birkemeyer, Jackson Hole, Wy.; two sons, Bert and Fred, Mayer; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2pm Wednesday, March 2, at the Dugas Ranch Cemetery, near Cordes Junction, Mr Rink Goswick officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-7 Tuesday, March 1, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
