From the Ajo Copper News MRS. MARY O'SHEA, LONG TIME AJO RESIDENT, PASSED AWAY Mrs. Mary E. O'Shea, 82, died at the New Cornelia Hospital at 11 o'clock Sunday night. She had been ailing for the past year and had been hospitalized since July 25. Mrs. O'Shea had been a resident of Ajo for many years. She was born on Dec. 24, 1868 at Woodhill, Ill. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goodell, she was the former Mary E. Goodell before her marriage to L. J. Hubbard at Holyoke, Nebr., on Dec. 5, 1888. Following her second marriage to J. L. O'Shea in El Paso, Texas in 1908, she resided in El Paso until 1910, in Columbus, N. M., until 1912, and in Morenci until 1917 when she moved to Ajo where she lived ever since. Mrs. O'Shea was a member of the Ladies Aid, the American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the Women of the Moose. She is survived by three children; one daughter, Mrs. Madge L. Bell of Ajo; and two sons, C. L. Hubbard of Long Beach, Calif., and G. E. Hubbard of Phoenix. Another daughter, Mrs. Hazel I. Dorsey, passed away on Jan. 28, 1949. Grandchildren surviving are Mrs. Charles B. Fugate of Yuma; Mrs. M. J. Keeton of Germany; Mrs. D. E. Cardarelle of Fontana, Calif.; G. E. Hubbard, Jr., and O. L. Hubbard of Phoenix; J. R. Smith of Phoenix; C. L. Hubbard, Jr., and Betty Jean Hubbard of Long Beach, Calif.; and George B. Dorsey, Jr., of Phoenix. Great grandchildren surviving are James and Linda Fugate, Karen A. Keeton, Arlene, Janet and Lorraine Dorsey, Gerald, Karl and Michael Hubbard, David Hubbard, Carmen and Spencer Smith, baby Cardarelle and the daughter and son of C. L. Hubbard, Jr.
