OBERG,
Christopher Zachary
Our precious Christopher Zachary Oberg was born Sept. 4, 1989 in Mesa, Arizona and died in a tragic accident March 6, 2010 at age 20.
He was a freshman at Arizona State University studying physics and hoped to be a scientist one day. Private First Class Christopher Zachary Oberg joined the Arizona Army National Guard Oct. 2008 and was a Distinguished Honor Graduate from Advanced Individual Training. Chris was a Supply Specialist to HHC 1st Battalion 158th IN, in Mesa Arizona.
Chris was raised in Gilbert and lived several years on the beach in Mexico. Chris was the bright blue-eyed baby of the family with a beaming smile and soft blond hair. Our little "Zachy" was sweet spirited, witty, funny, so full of love and full of life.
Chris was highly spiritual and a brilliant mind. He was a gifted writer, philosopher and loved science experiments. Chris was the definition of a loyal friend. He loved his family and always showered us with hugs and "I love you".
Chris loved music, playing the drums, making movies, snowboarding, camping and the outdoors. He loved animals. He adored his nieces and nephews and enjoyed being their "Uncle Zach". Chris loved hugs and cuddles. He was the most caring, loving and generous spirit.
Chris is survived by his mother, Yvonne Crewse; his father, Douglas Oberg; his stepmother, Shelly Oberg; his grandmothers, Paulina Crewse and Isabel Oberg; his sisters, Leeanne Sampson, Hanna (Marc) Hinze and Erin Lowe; his best friend and brother, Ted Oberg; his stepbrother, Scott Young; stepsister, Debra Young; his nieces, Emily Sampson, Ashley Sampson and Lia Hinze; his nephews, Andrew Sampson, James Hinze and Ryan Hinze; seven aunts and uncles; seven cousins; and many dear friends.
