MOEDE, Eldon W.

The Paynesville Press, August 1998 Eldon W. Moede, 91, passed away on Aug. 17, 1998, at Tucson Medical Center Hospice. A memorial service was held on Aug. 22, 1998, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Catalina United Methodist Church in Tucson, Ariz. Eldon was born on May 8, 1907, in Paynesville, Minn., to Gustav and Ida (Nehring) Moede. Eldon was a World War II veteran who served in the Corps of Engineers. He retired as a supervisor from Magma Copper Company in 1972. His hobbies included sports and music, especially barbershop quartets. He and Evie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July. He is survived by his wife, Sara Evanor; son, Paul (Sandi) of Colorado Springs; and three grandsons.
