BENNETT,
John (Jake) William
John "Jake" William Bennett died May 24, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Z. Bennett (nee Tally); sons, Douglas L. (Ret. Air Force), of Colorado Springs, Colorado and William R., of Tucson; two grandsons, Timothy M. and Jeffrey J. Bennett, of Colorado Springs; and great-granddaughters, Elise M. and Corinna L. Bennett.
Jake lived in Black, Texas until the winter of 1938 and attended Eastern New Mexico College in Portales, New Mexico. He joined the Army Air Corp in Clovis, New Mexico in January 1942. He was at Davis Monthan for most of his service. Jake returned to Tucson where he lived until 1949, when he moved to Seminole, Texas and worked in the Ford dealership of Bennett Motor Co. until 1985. He then moved to Tucson and sold cars and trucks until 2006 when he incurred vision problems.
Joys included grandchildren (especially his trips to Europe to see them as he missed them so much). He enjoyed travel throughout the western U.S., the scenic wonders of the west, and art of the west. Classic cars, racing and museums gave him enjoyment, as well as meeting people through continuing the auto sales business.

Memorials may be made in Jake's name to the Salvation Army.
