Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Tuesday, June 29, 2010 Frances B. Edel, 99, of Flagstaff, died Saturday, June 26, 2010. Mrs. Edel was born Sept. 28, 1910, in Manistee, Mich., to Stephen and Catherine Strzyzewski. She lived most of her life in Manistee before retiring to Tucson in 1975. In 2002, she moved to Flagstaff to be closer to her family and lived at the Peaks Senior Living Center until her death. Mrs. Edel was very proud of her family and being the matriarch of five generations. Her family wishes to express their thanks for the loving care and attention given to Mrs. Edel by the nurses and caregivers at the Peaks and Hospice Compassus. Their thanks also go out to her many friends for their support. Mrs. Edel is survived by her sons. Ted (Joan) of Ash Fork and Dan (Melissa) of Flagstaff; nine grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edel, and son Phillip. Rosary will be recited Friday at 10 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Both services will be at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, St. Pius Chapel, 2257 E.
