Larry J. Biakeddy, 77, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Winslow.

Mr. Biakeddy was born in January 1933 in Big Mountain. He attended school at Sherman Indian School in Riverside, Calif. He was a journeyman carpenter last employed by Carpenter's Union. Prior to that, he was a Navajo Department of Public Safety police officer.

Mr. Biakeddy is survived by his wife, Betty Biakeddy; son Gary Biakeddy; daughter Jan Biakeddy; sisters Phyllis Mose and Mae Farve; brothers Sam Biakeddy and Joe Biakeddy; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Violet Biakeddy and Beh Gaashii Bih eeh Biakeddy; and brothers Jesse, Slim, Landon and Eddie.

Funeral services will be today at 10 a.m. at Leupp Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Officiating will be Robert Chee, with interment to follow at Forest Lake Family Plot (Red Slide Peak).
