John Anthony
Commander John Anthony Bray U.S. Navy, Retired. Born September 30, 1957, passed away June 28, 2010.
Preceded in death by sister, Linda Marie Bray, and mother, Marie J. Bray.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Bray; sons, Johnny, Francisco and Michael; father, Frank (Renee) Bray; brothers, Robert Bray and Thomas Bray; and sister, Karen Rose Taylor.
John graduated from Flowing Wells High School and is a member of Caballeros Hall of Fame. He earned a BS at Northern Arizona University and graduated with a Masters Degree from the United States Naval Post Graduate School in Presidio, California.
Commander Bray's duties in the U.S. Navy were global onboard P3-Orion antisubmarine and as a Naval Flight Officer. He served in The Persian Gulf War and his last military assignment before retiring was at the Pentagon.
After retirement, he worked part-time at Lowry's Hardware Store. John was a very lovable and mild mannered, give-you-the-shirt-off-your-back type person. He taught his children the lesson of caring and compassion.
Services Thursday, July 1, 2010, 9:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Naval Honor Guard.
