SHOOK, Ann Cusmino


Ann Cusmino Shook 77, died on June 28, 2010 of natural causes. Her family will hold a Visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Avenue. A Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at St. Odilia's Parish, 7570 N. Paseo Del Norte. Ann was born in Chicago on June 10, 1933 to Anthony and Maria Cusmino. She grew up with her brother, Joe, in the Grand Crossing community on Chicago's South Side, graduating from Hirsch High and working at the First National Bank of Chicago. She married James J. Shook in 1962. On vacation, they fell in love with the desert and moved their family to Tucson in 1969. Ann was a loving wife and mother, she was devoted to her family and friends, and always made it a priority to spend time with them. She re-entered the workforce after raising her family, extending her circle of friends through working with students and staff at several schools, including the University of Arizona. Ann is survived by her husband, Jim Shook; children, Cathy; son, Jim and his wife, Joanna and son, Dan and his wife, Kristin; grandchildren, Mattingly and Dallas; her sister-in-law, Mary and two nephews.
