Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona December 24, 1981 Harold James, well-known rancher in Prescott and Wickenburg, died Saturday, December 19 in Prescott. He had owned and operated The Deep Well Ranch in Prescott since 1955, and the M. Lazy K Ranch off the Prescott Highway in Wickenburg since 1971. Mr. James, 73, was born in Sheridan, Wyoming in 1908. His wife, Jean Butz James, survives him. Other survivors include two brothers, Herbert James of Spokane, Washington, and Gilbert James of Seattle; a sister, Alice James Marron of Sheridan, Wyoming. Mr. James was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army Military Police. He was a member of the Prescott Lodge No. 330 of Elks, the “American Legion post 40 of Chino Valley, the National Cattlemen’s Association and the Rodeo Cowboy’s Association. He was also a Master Mason of Sheridan Blue Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry in Sheridan and a member of El Zaribah Temple in Phoenix. Services will be held in Prescott at the Memory Chapel on Grove Street at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 23. The family has requested that no flowers be sent. Contributions in Mr. James; memory may be made to the Marind Military Academy of Harligen, Texas or to the charity of one’s choice.
