The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/26/2006 Wanda Wiltbank Slade, 88, died May 22, 2006 at her home in Eagar. She also was born in Eagar Dec. 16, 1917. Wanda spent her entire life in Eagar. She developed a deep love for the mountains. She was a bird watcher and loved all kinds of birds, but her favorite was the robin. She loved and enjoyed being around people and always had a positive word to say about everyone. Her survivors include her sons, Blaine (Florence) Slade, Mesa; Wayne (Sue) Slade, Mesa; and Dave (Ellen) Slade, Eagar; daughters Sherraldine (Floyd ) Penrod, Eagar; Gerraldine (Arnold) Gillespie, Eagar; LoWanda (Charles) Pugh, Eagar; and Patricia (Paul) Nelson, Thatcher; 37 grandchildren, 91 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband, Loe Slade; and son Clayton; parents Spencer Lot Wiltbank and Nora Pearson Wiltbank; brothers Von, Kenneth, Pollard and Marvin Gale; and sisters Mary Ellen Naegle, Lida Foch and Velma Parris. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 27, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville. Burnham Mortuary, Eagar, is in charge of the arrangements.
