BRYANT, Troy O.


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, June 30, 2010 Troy O. Bryant passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 84. Troy was born on April 8, 1926, in Gracemont, Okla., to William and Nettie (Williams) Bryant. On Sept. 18, 1944, Troy enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country until Dec. 15, 1946. Troy worked for the Teamsters of Southern California as an equipment driver for 30 years. He made Lake Havasu City his home 26 years ago, moving here from Bellflower, Calif. Troy was a current member of the American Legion in Lake Havasu City and past member of the VFW and Elks lodge, both of Lake Havasu City. He enjoyed landscaping and loved to fish and play the slot machines. Troy is survived by his nephew, Roy Bryant Jr., of Golden Valley; niece, Mary Burtt, of Lake Havasu City; stepson, Stan Hendricks; stepdaughters, Charlene Carter, of Lake Havasu City, Peggy Belton, and Judy Allen; as well as 13 step-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby, who passed away on Dec. 8, 2009; son, Michael Bedford Bryant; brother, Roy Bryant Sr.; sisters, Seylbuys Irene Blackshire and Lucy Mae Fliger. Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Friday morning at 9 a.m. at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home with interment to follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
