LEMON,
Lillian Ann
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/30/2006
Lillian Ann Lemon was blessed with eternal life May 20, 2006 at the age of 92.
Lillian was born in Sallisaw, Okla. Jan. 28, 1914. In 1929 she moved to Tucson, Arizona where she later met and married her husband of more than 40 years O.F. (Jack) Lemon and was the proud mother of two twin boys, Herald and Gerald. Lillian became a member of the Arizona Chapter No. 2 of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1945. She joined Tucson Assembly No. 115 of the Social Order of Beauceant in 1948.
Lillian moved with her husband to Lakeside in 1961 and was a lifetime member of the Navapache Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pinetop and taught Sunday school until the age of 89. Lillian was beloved by her friends and family as a strong willed, independent, generous woman with a zest for living. She was as comfortable fishing for trout on a lake in the White Mountains or in the forest with a chainsaw cutting firewood or singing praises to the Lord in church. Her devout faith guided her entire life. Lillian lived her final two years with family in Scottsdale and then as a resident of the Arizona Grand Independent Living Center.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Lemon and Gloria Flett-Lemon (Tucson); her grandsons, Jim Lemon (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Jody Riley (Seattle, Wash.); her great granddaughters, Jenna and Caelan Riley (Seattle, Wash.); her sister, Hazel Gibson (Parowan, Utah); her niece and nephew-in-law, Lanora and John Keller (Scottsdale) and the Kellers' children Penney, Joni, Duane and Kari.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack, and her son, Herald.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 30 at First Baptist Church in Pinetop at 10:30 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to service.
