Charles Phillip O'Bryan, 69 died May 22, 2006.
He was born April 3, 1937 in Los Angeles, Calif., the youngest of two children. As a young man growing up he was adventurous and determined. He joined the Navy where he was a Navy Seal. He was also a diver and held the world record for the deepest, longest bell dive.
He served in Vietman and received two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars with valor. He loved his country and was a patriot. After his Navy career, he traveled around the west on his motorcycle. He found the White Mountains of Arizona and decided to stay. Wherever he went, he told people he missed his Arizona mountains.
He is survived by his children, Michael W. O'Bryan, Charlene Rogers, Rebecca Patterson and Timothy K. O'Bryan; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna O'Bryan; and two children, Mike Straight and Audrey Burton.
No services are planned at this time.
