MILLER, George Wesley


Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona January 24, 1980, page 16 George Wesley Miller, 69, Congress, died Jan. 14, 1980 in Congress. Born Sept. 26, 1910, in Seattle, Wash, Mr. Miller was the son of Isaac and Anna Cody Miller. After graduating from high school, he drove for Seattle Municipal Bus Lines for two years, then went to work at the U.S. Navy shipyard at Bremerton, Wash. He married Martha Mooney and was granted a transfer to the Navy Ship yard in Hawaii where he worked until joining the army in World War II. After the war, Mr. Miller returned to Long Beach, Ca., where he worked as a civilian employee for the Navy until his retirement. His wife, Martha, died in 1973, and Mr. Miller moved to Lake Isabella, then Kingman, and finally to Wickenburg. Surviving him is one sister, Helen Cody Lower, Sparks, Nev. Mr. Miller was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks and Moose Lodges. Services were conducted Monday, Jan 21, by the VFW and American Legion in Wickenburg. Burial was at the Wickenburg Cemetery.
