WOODWRD, Lewis Kent (Sonny)

GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. — Lewis Kent "Sonny" Woodward, 91, of Green Valley, Ariz., passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, in Tucson. He was born July 10, 1918, in Ottawa, to Ira L. Woodward and Nannie Mae Combs. He married Loret Heiser in 1972 in Los Angeles. Sonny attended Ottawa grade schools and Ottawa Township High School. He graduated in 1936 from Sewanee Military Academy. He also was a 1940 graduate of the University of Illinois. He served in the Army during World War II. Sonny retired in 1980 as executive vice president of N.W. Ayer, Jorgensen, MacDonald, an advertising agency in Los Angeles. He is survived by his wife, Loret; son, Jay R. Woodward of Fort Collins, Colo.; two grandchildren, Justin and Michael Woodward, both of Fort Collins; and a great-grandchild, Jada Woodward. He is preceded in death by a brother, John C. Woodward, and a sister, Virginia (Woodward) Cook. Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery in Sahuarita, Ariz., handled the arrangements.
