GLENN, Thomas Nicholas


Thomas Nicholas Glenn Born April 13, 1930 to parents, Dr. George and Dolores Glenn in Philadelphia, PA. died October 22, 2007. He graduated from North East High in 1948, attended St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia, graduating in 1952 with a BSD in Business Administration. Following college he joined the Air Force in October 1952. He attended pilot training school, graduating in April 1954. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was stationed in Korea and Japan and various bases in the U.S. and also spent many extra flying tours in the European and Pacific Theaters. He was in Strategic Air Command from 1957 to his retirement in 1975. He then followed his wife, Ellen (also Air Force) to Italy, Germany and South Dakota. During that time he returned to graduate school, earning a masters in Management. In 1981 he taught Business Administration at National College in Rapid City, South Dakota. He moved to Tucson in 1983 where he flew as a corporate pilot for nine years; retiring in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; son, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Thomas Glenn, Jr, wife, Maggie and grandchildren, Kyle, Allysa and step-granddaughter, Mary; brother, Dr. George Glenn; nephews, George Jr. and Jim; and cousin Mr. Richard Snyder. Mass will be offered 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 29, 2007 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Burial will follow in Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery with military honors provided by the Davis Monthan Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family requests contributions in Thomas' name be made to the American Lung Association of Arizona, 2819 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ, 85716, or to the American Heart Association, 5325 E. Pima, Tucson, AZ, 85712. Visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, October 28, 2007 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL , 6910 E. Broadway. Celebration at Thirsty's (Wrightstown Road) on Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Published in the Tucson on 10/25/2007.
