Sylvester L. Lakosky Sr. (aka Super, Sev, Sam) Born April 13 , 1912 in the Township of Inwood, Schoolcraft County, Michigan.
Son of Charles Lakosky and Lily Ann (Roberts) Lakosky. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Juana (Bushnell) Lakosky. One of 10 children, Sylvester is survived by brother, Robert Lakosky and his sister, Lily Anne Ertel. Also survived by daughter, Deborah Edgell (Ron); son, Sy Lakosky Jr. (Maechele); daughter, Linda Cooper (Matt); son, Daren Lakosky (Susan); 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A devoted husband and caring father, Sylvester always enjoyed being around his family and considered it his number one priority in life. His early years were spent in Michigan at Camp Cook and Camp Cusino in the Civilian Conservation Core (CCC's) and attending Forestry School. While later working in Wisconsin at the Harley-Davidson plant, he received notice from Uncle Sam. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Sylvester moved to Tucson, AZ in March, 1944. He began working for the Southern Pacific Railroad and later, the Pacific Fruit Express, retiring from the Railroad in 1974. Surrounded by his devoted family until the very end, Sylvester will be dearly missed. He taught all of us what is important in life and always led through good example.
Funeral mass will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 15, 2008, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd., Tucson, AZ. Burial to follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 14, 2008, at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd. Tucson, AZ. Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M.
