Helen Mary Walsh Dunphy Seredynsky 1942 - 2010.
Helen passed away on March 8, 2010, after a long and brave battle with cancer.
She is the daughter of the late Helen E. Whalen and Peter J. Walsh. She was born November 21, 1942 in Yonkers, New York and attended Sacred Heart Grammar and High School. She worked at Ryan Hardware in Yonkers, NY; and IBM in Yorktown and White Plains, NY and Phoenix and Tucson, AZ.
Helen was a member of the Tucson East Elks Lodge 2532 and a past president of the Auxiliary. Also a Life Member of the VFW 1666 Auxiliary Yonkers, NY and a past president of the Shrub Oak (NY) Federated Garden Club.
She is survived by her brother, William Walsh; sisters, Elizabeth A. O'Neill and Loretta (Albert) Gibbs; 14 nieces and nephews; 20 grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husbands, John J. Dunphy (1976) and John E. Seredynsky (2000) and her sister, Maryellen Nowak (2007).
She enjoyed traveling, especially cruising and fulfilled a dream of taking a 105 day World Tour Cruise. She loved doing crafts, reading and going to the casino (usually lucky).
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010, at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ. Elks Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered, 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery.
