Dorothy Hannis Stafford 58, died January 8, 2008 from complications due to post-polio complications.
Dorothy moved to Tucson in 1972 and became a special education teacher for the TUSD. She married David Stafford, the love of her life, in June 1984. She is survived by her parents, Sam and Doris Hannis; by her three sisters, and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Joseph Falke, Patricia and Travis Walsh and Joanne Hannis and Michael Marcus, six nieces and nephews, as well as four great nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a loving daughter, sister and caring friend. She was extremely generous with her time and resources as she was always there when needed and donated to numerous organizations despite her fixed income. Dorothy was a plain spoken woman with both an internal and external beauty. Dorothy will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held tonight from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN MORTUARY. Burial is Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Desert.
