BENCOMO, Riboberto


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/09/2006 Rigoberto Bencomo, 54 of McNary, died June 3, 2006. He was born May 25, 1952 in LaMarta, Chihuahua, Mexico. As a young man, he worked the fields with his father. He also enjoyed working with horses. He came to the U.S. in 1970. He went to work in Pima, and after a few years he came to McNary to work in the logging industry. He fell in love with the area, and a few years later, he met and fell in love with his wife, Gladys Kinney. They married and made their home in McNary. Rigoberto loved the outdoors, camping and was a fisherman. He was a hard worker. Rigoberto was a professional landscaper for Frank Smith for 18 years and worked on area Country Clubs. Most recently, he and his wife managed the store at Horseshoe Cienega Lake Rigoberto is survived by his wife, Gladys Bencomo; nine children, Rosa Marie Bencomo, Elizabeth Bencomo, Alma Bencomo, Myriam Bencomo, Efrain Bencomo, Grupha Burnette, Culver Goseyan, Shyleen Bonito, and Manuelito Bencomo; two brothers, Efrain Bencomo and Gonzalo Bencomo; two sisters, Sra. Socorro B. Ramos, and Sra. Luz Ester B. Rodriguez; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many friends and relatives here and in Mexico. A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 7 from 4-8 p.m. at Owens Mortuary, Show Low. A wake will begin Friday, June 9 at 9 a.m. at the Bencomo residence. His body will then be escorted home to Cal. Alamillo, Chihuahua, Mexico, where he will be buried. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
