BRANNON, Loretta

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/23/2006 Loretta Brannon, 64 of Taylor, died at home June 18, 2006. Loretta was born July 24, 1941 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to William and Thelma Sears. Her family moved to West Virginia while she was still an infant, later returning to Dover, Ohio, where she finished school. While attending school, Loretta met, and later married Roger A. Brannon, April 26, 1958. She and Roger shared 48 years of marriage. Following their marriage they made their home in Eastern Ohio and moved a few times while Roger worked, first with the mines, then with a steel manufacturing plant. During this time, Loretta was a homemaker, and then she went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in 1966. In 1984 she moved to Show Low and continued working for the Post Office until her retirement in 1996. Loretta enjoyed her family, cooking, and art. Loretta is survived by her husband, Roger A. Brannon of Taylor; four sons, Rodney "Rowdy" A. Brannon of White Mountain Lake, Rich P. Brannon of White Mountain Lake, Mike D. Brannon of Clay Springs, and Roma W. Brannon of Linden; one daughter Jean M. Scott of Lovettesville, Ohio; her mother, Thelma M. Sears of Taylor; a brother, William D. Sears, Jr. of Show Low; sister, Dolores J. Sims of Jacksonville, Arkansas; and 10 grandchildren. A viewing will be held Friday, June 23 from 6-8 p.m. at Owens Mortuary, Snowflake. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 26 at 10 a.m. at Living Faith Church in Snowflake. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled the arrangements.
