A funeral mass was held for Tom T. Ortega at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook, AZ Thursday, June 22.
Tom was very active in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he was involved with the Knights of Columbus, Parrish Council, Eucoristic Ministry Teacher for Edge for Teens, and the Cursillo Monument. Tom was active in the AIA for 38 years coaching, teaching, officiating, and spectating. All kids in sports were a joy to him. He was involved in Kiwanis, American Legion and The Elk's. Tom was an avid lover of golf.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Viola; two daughters, Barbara (Ronnie) Perkins, and Tamara Ortega, both of Holbrook; one son, T.J (Jamie) Ortega of Pinetop; his mother Jesusita Ortega of Holbrook; three brothers, Harold Ortega of Utah, Morly (Jacque) Ortega of Gilbert, and Paul Ortega of Holbrook; five sisters, Lita Mann (Fred Slalton) of Adamana, Juanita (Don) Mann of Holbrook, Betty (Roland) Mahan of Houck, Gloria Ortega of Phoenix and Rita Ortega of Okla.; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Tony Ortega, one brother Tony Donald Ortega, and one sister, Dorothy Chavez.
