She was born Dec. 11, 1920 in Fort Worth, Texas, to McKinley and Mollie Bell. She lived in Texas until the age of 9, when she moved to Southern California with her parents and brother Mack. After graduating high school, she joined the Screen Actor's Guild, enabling her to pursue her love of acting, both on radio and in films. She enjoyed people so much that no one was a stranger for very long. Later she joined the Classified Sales Department of the Los Angeles Times newspaper, where she won many awards for her high sales, retiring in 1986 after 30 years. She then moved to Las Vegas, Nev., enjoying the desert life and making many new senior friends. MaryEllen was lovingly known by her family as "Mickey." She will be remembered by the many stories she would tell of her experiences throughout the years, and her love of cooking and baking. She is survived by her brother, Mack (Beverly) Bell; nephew, Doug of Calif.; and her devoted cousin Jean Wikoff of Calif. And her family Valerie (Gene) Stirling of Ariz., Mike (Naomi) Wikoff of Ore., Pamela (David) Gary of Calif. and their children Sarah Kaeb of Ore., Kessany Roach of Colo., Robert and Cynthia Stirling of Ariz., and Lauren Gary of Calif. Her two beloved Pomeranian dogs "Gigi" and "Inky" who gave her many years of joy preceded her in death. At her request their ashes were scattered together on Mount Charleston, overlooking the city of Las Vegas, Nev.
