BUHROW, Louis Lester


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, May 12, 2009 Louis Lester Buhrow, 88, passed away May 7, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. He was born on Sept. 7, 1920, in Fredericksburg, Iowa, to Leonard E. and Mary (Guhlow) Buhrow. Louis moved to Lake Havasu City with his wife 12 years ago from Bellevue, Wash. He worked as a source inspector for Boeing in Seattle, Wash., for 45 years. Louis proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Eagles No. 4299, American Legion No. 81, and V.F.W. Post No. 9401. Louis loved golf and played semi-pro ball with the Sumner Cubs in Iowa. He also loved to travel. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ann Buhrow, of Lake Havasu City; son, Steven Buhrow, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; daughters, Eloise Simmons, of Nederland, Texas, Linda Crogan, of Marietta, Ga.; brothers, Leonard Buhrow, of Waterloo, Iowa, and Paul Buhrow, of Jessup, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Janice; brother, Alfred ; and sisters Bertha, Rita, and Leona. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Lietz-Fraze Chapel, 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, Lietz-Fraze Chapel, 11 a.m. with words of comfort being said by Rev. Richard Rounds. The V.F.W. Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81 will present military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Louis’ name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O.
