MACHECA, John C. (Jack)

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona March 27, 1980 John C. “Jack” Macheca, 65, a long time winter visitor to Wickenburg before his retirement to this town in 1974, died Monday morning Mar. 17, 1980, while sleeping at this home. Mr. Macheca served an executive vice president with the D’Arch Advertising Agency, St. Louis, Mo., and was a frequent visitor to Wickenburg during that time. Actively involved in numerous local activities, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Desert Caballeros Museum, and founder and board member of the Los Caballeros Golf Club. Surviving are his wife, Betty; two daughters, Mary Beth Koon and Blair Dalton, and a son John Macheca, Jr. The family request donations to the Jack Macheca Memorial Fund, Box QQ, Wickenburg in lieu of flowers. ~~~~~~~~ The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Wednesday, August 03, 2011 Betty Jones Macheca passed away peacefully at Mari de Villa Retirement Center in St. Louis, Mo., on July 21 at age 90. She was the beloved wife of the late John C. Macheca; mother of Beth Koon, Blair Dalton and John C. Macheca Jr.; sister of the late Mary Ann Jones Cowhey; aunt of a large and loving family of nieces and nephews. Her lifelong love of horses inspired her to ride almost daily until her early 80s. She spent a good part of her time at her second home in Wickenburg, Ariz. Betty requested contributions to the Humane Society of Wickenburg in lieu of flowers.
