Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, April 30, 2009 William Daniel Porter passed away on April 11, 2009, in Las Vegas Nev. He was born in Madison, Ind., June 15, 1921, to Eva Alma (Jenkins) and George Washington Porter. Dan served in the Army Air Corps as a flight engineer in World War II. He married Wanda Oliver Nov. 19, 1949, in Las Vegas. He retired from civil service and moved to Lake Havasu City in 1985, where he resided until his death. He is survived by his wife of 59 and a half years, Wanda; daughter Janis Wetherbee, both of Lake Havasu City; son Jerry (Dalene) Morris, of Highland Calif.; grandchildren Dana (Jason) Hall, of Reno Nev., Jeremy (Karen) Wetherbee, of Las Vegas, Colleen (Curtis) Sanden, of Claremont Calif., Bryan (Kristiana) Morris and Gary (Melinda) Morris, both of San Diego Calif.; sister-in-law Ethel Porter and great-grandchildren Kellie and Ian Davidson, of Lake Havasu City, Carly and Crista Sanden, Kaylee Hall, Julianna Morris, Marley May Morris; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother George Porter; sister Gladys Albert; and granddaughter Kerri Wetherbee. No services will be held but a celebration of his life will take place May 3, at the Desert Hills Fire Station from 4 pm to 6 pm.
