Today's News-Herald Published Monday, April 27, 2009 8:44 AM MST Charlotte Ann Rodgers passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. She was born Aug. 16, 1954, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Almeda Reed and Charles Vega. She was raised in Southern California. Charlotte loved life and people; she was quite the jokester. She loved skydiving, fishing and camping. Just prior to her death, she made a bucket list and one of the things on it was parasailing, which she did accomplish. She was a daredevil and also loved boating and waterskiing. She was an active member of the Havasu Cancer Society. She was a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. Wherever she was, she attracted people. She had very much willpower. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2003, but she surprised the doctors and all by surviving six years. Before succumbing to the cancer, she was beautiful. She was loved by all and will be truly missed. She always said she was a superhero, and she was. She is survived by her father Charles Vega, of Surprise; sisters, Linda Dykes and Terri Belenski, of Arizona; brothers, Carlos Vega, of Browning, Mont., Jim Vega, of Lake Havasu City, and John Vega, of Kelso, Wash. She is preceded in death by her mother Almeda Reed. Services will be held May 2, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 2001 N. Palo Verde Blvd., in Lake Havasu City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu or Havasu Cancer Association. Arrangements were entrusted to Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory.
