Louis Michael Gillet, 89, passed away April 10, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. He was born on Feb. 28, 1920, in San Antonio, Texas, to Louis Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Schade) Gillet.
Louis moved to Lake Havasu City 14 years ago from Reno, Nev. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, in World War II for almost five years and received the Legion of Merit for excelling in his fieldwork on P-38 airplanes. After completing his years in the military, Louis went on to become a police officer for the Los Angeles Police Department for 20-plus years. Later he became a superior court bailiff for the Riverside Sheriff’s Department for 10 years.
Louise is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roselle Gillet; and son, Lou Gillet Jr., of Tonopah, Nev. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Gillet; and brother, Ralph Gillet.
