Two Marines on leave were killed in a three care collision on May 18 at 7:15 p.m. near 203rd Avenue on US 60.
The two servicemen were Shane Nicodemus and Henry A. Ruffian, both stationed in Hawaii. In serious condition as result of the crash was the driver of the second car, Robert Barry. None of his three passengers was injured, nor was the driver of the third car, Glen Leach.
According to a DPS report, Robert Clements, Jr., of California, the driver of the car in which the two Marines died, tried to pass with oncoming traffic when the accident occurred.
Clements was hospitalized at Boswell Hospital, and released two days later.
