SCHAEFER, Edward Robert


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, April 22, 2009 Edward Robert Schaefer, 85, passed away April 9, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. He was born on July 28, 1923, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Edwin A. and Florence (Amman) Schaefer. Edward moved to Lake Havasu City five years ago from San Diego, Calif. He lived happily with his son Jon, daughter-in-law Debi, granddaughter, Sarah Jane and his cat, Raven. Edward proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, World War II, Pacific Theater, 20th Bomber Group. Upon completion of World War II, he became an Ohio State Trooper. He later worked as Safety Engineer for California OSHA for 10 years. Edward loved to go target shooting at the local gun ranges and in the desert. He was a kind, compassionate man and will be greatly missed. Edward is survived by his sons; Jon Schaefer, of Lake Havasu City, and Edward Schaefer II, of Ohio; daughters, Susan Shanaberger, of Santa Barbara, Calif., Pat Hefner, of California, and Margie Schwinn, of Arizona; and nine grandchildren.
