UETZ, Dan

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, April 21, 2009 April 25, 1960 — March 19, 2009 Dan was born in Stanton, Calif. We lost him in Black Canyon. Dan is survived by his wife of 26 years, Amy; sons, Daniel, 24, medical assistant, and David, 18, high school student; mother, Donna (stepfather Al) Stewart; sister, Cheri (Jeff) Thompson; nephews, Dillan and Brian; niece, Cassandra; stepbrothers; Darryl Orr, Rick, and Sam; stepsisters, Leanne, Linda, Leslie, of California; cousins, Wayne and Toni Fowler, of New Mexico; brothers and sisters from IBEW 260, especially Dusty Fite. Dan was raised in Bellflower by his mother Donna, Aunt Charlene, and his grandparents Les “Tex” and Lorene Fowler. Dan loved baseball since watching Mike play and going to Dodger games with Grandpa Fowler. They also enjoyed owning and riding horses. Dan became a journeyman electrician in Long Beach at the L.A. Harbor. He played baseball for the Aero Jet Ordinance team in Downey, Calif. He learned very young to play the guitar, mandolin and the piano by ear, with his friends and family. His friends in Black Canyon knew Dan loved to go with his sons riding roads in the mountains and deserts collecting rocks (for making jewelry), fishing and swimming. He loved life and his family, friends and neighbors. Thank you Sen. Kyl and staff for saving Dan from losing his wonderful Hospice of the Valley team. Because of them, Dan lived to swim with dolphins in San Diego. Dan also got to see the Cardinals clinch their division at the stadium, thanks to Dave Watson, No. 98, Cardinals and team. His friends, Rick Boatman, Joe Sarrell, Bob Dale, Mike Brannon, the Muellers, Bascoms and many more, will miss Dan. Thanks also to Grady’s Barbeque in Phoenix for the wonderful lunch you served.
