Gerald “Gerry” Louis Hill, 83, passed away March 20, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. He was born Dec. 15, 1925, in San Diego, Calif., to Gerald G. and Louise S. (Hart) Hill.
Gerry moved to Lake Havasu City 22 years ago from San Diego, Calif. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guards, WWII.
Gerry worked as Deputy Agriculture Commissioner for the County of San Diego for 30 plus years. He was a member of the London Bridge Square and Round Dance Club and Gem and Mineral Club. He made jewelry as a fun hobby to do. Gerry loved the outdoors and he hiked all over the Sierra Mountains.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nellie Hill; daughter, Theresa Lynn Smithson, of Cottonwood, Ariz.; sons, Lawrence Steven Hill, of Cape Cod, Mass., Timothy David Hill, and Jonathan Peter Hill, both of San Diego, Calif.; and many grand, great and great great grandchildren.
A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at Lakeview Community Church Saturday at 2 p.m. Words of wisdom and inspirations will be expressed by Pastor Dale Ray.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Gerry’s name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86405.
