Leslie Roger Kutzler, 80, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009, at his home in Lake Havasu City surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 7, 1928, in Glendive, Mont., to Harry G. Kutzler and Sarah (McGaughey) Kutzler.
Les was a professional truck driver his entire working career, and moved to Lake Havasu City 19 years ago on retirement. He was a 50-year member and past Governor of the Moose Lodge. After retirement, he joined and was very active in the Elks Lodge, Eagle’s Lodge and Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the El Zaribah Shrine and was a past president of the Lake Havasu Shrine Club. Les enjoyed volunteering at fraternal order functions, camping and traveling with his family and many friends.
Les is survived by Daisy, his loving wife of 62 years; sons, Les LeeRay (Diana) Kutzler, of Billings Mont., David (Kary) Kutzler, of Tucson, and Daryl (Susan) Kutzler, of Billings; daughters, Gaylene Jones, of Las Vegas, and Sarah (Larry) Merkel, of Petaluma, Calif.; brothers, Harold (Hazel) Kutzler, of Glendive, Mont., Lawrence Kutzler, of Miles City, Mont., and Allen (Jean) Kutzler, of Lafayette, Colo.; sister Marge (Jim) Johnson, of Chandler, eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, George; grandson, Richie; and daughter-in-law, Leslie Jo Kutzler.
A memorial service will be held at Lake Havasu Moose Lodge at 10 a.m., Saturday. Contributions can be made in Les’s name to the Shriner’s Hospital System and to Hospice of Havasu.
