Barbara E. Bredeweg, 77, affectionately known as Barb to her husband, passed away peacefully March 4, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. She was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Lindsay, Calif.
Barbara and her husband moved to Lake Havasu City 19 years ago from Carlsbad, Calif. Her passion was sewing, and quilting. Before she retired she taught quilting classes all over the country. She also wrote a book on how to quilt. She is a past president of Western Welcome. She was also very active with the Presbyterian Church.
As the matriarch of the family she will be missed by her family, and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Dick, and three sons, Steve Bredeweg, of Lake Havasu City, Robert Bredeweg, of Oceanside Calif., Richard Bredeweg, of Carlsbad, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Gail Bredeweg, of Lake Havasu City; grandsons, Michael, Bradley, Matthew, Eric and Tyler; and three great grandchildren, Desiray, Andrea, and Andrew of Lake Elsinore, California.
A memorial service is set for Saturday at the Community Presbyterian Church located at 3450 Chemehuevi, Lake Havasu City at 11 a.m.
